What a budget-conscious-plant-based-gal has in their pantry
Quinoa— A complete protein, this stuff is awesome in any vegan meal (it can be as simple as throwing some olive oil and vinegar on it for an on-the-go protein boost)
Brown Rice— Like quinoa, this stuff can end up being a staple at any meal. And with a simple addition of beans (black beans, chickpeas, etc), it becomes a complete protein.
Peanut Butter (or any nut butter)— A MUST in any vegan kitchen
Nuts— favorites being almonds, cashews, and sunflower seeds
Stevia— all natural no-cal sweetener? Yeah, we shit you not, this stuff is amazing
Unsweetened Cocoa Powder— Throw some almonds, stevia and cocoa powder in a ziploc bag. A nummy, sweet, chocolatey, and crunchy treat wherever you go.
Black beans/chickpeas— A nice soy-free protein alternative
Teas— green, chai, sleepy-time, you name it. We love tea.
Coffee— Try and go for organic/fair trade. Yes, it’s a little bit pricier, but this is one of those things that is for a good cause AND good for your bod. Non-organic coffee beans are drowned in pesticides…definitely not a good look on anyone.
